Unai Emery demanded his Arsenal sideshow "more control" in games after another unconvincing win saw off Watford.
Emery said control was missing from his side's performance as they moved fifth in the table, and admitted his side need to be better going forward.
"We need more control of the game, but against a good team in Watford, who played a lot of long balls and controlled second balls through Troy Deeney, we stopped them attacking," said the Spaniard.
"But still, in the first half we had a good chance through Alexandre Lacazette, and I said to him the most important thing is to be creating these chances, and then we will score goals.
Petr Cech was forced off moments before half-time with a hamstring injury and replaced with Bernd Leno, who had a busy game to keep out efforts from Troy Deeney and Andre Gray.
Emery said his number one would be fit again in two to three weeks, and praised both goalkeepers for their contribution to a second straight Premier League clean sheet.
He said: "Both goalkeepers were very good in pre-season and in training, and I want to give them chances to have minutes, like on Wednesday and today. [Leno] was prepared, and gave us a good performance."
