Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum admits manager Jurgen Klopp is similar to his former Holland coach Louis van Gaal.
Former Manchester United boss Van Gaal picked Wijnaldum as part of his 23-man squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and the midfielder thinks the two renowned coaches are very much alike.
He told the PFA: “He’s actually quite similar to Louis van Gaal. He also asks a lot from players. It’s not always easy when a manager is that dominant and sees everything.
“But they only have one reason for it – to make you better. When you keep that in mind, you can deal with it.
“If you think ‘he always wants to say something about me’ then it can be hard. I always have the mindset that both those managers wanted to help me.”
Wijnaldum added: “He can be hard sometimes and always says what he thinks. But he is honest and I love that. He says that mistakes belong to football.
“For example, I made a mistake against Leicester City where a goal came out. He was not angry because of the mistake, but especially with my reaction afterwards. He thought I was too busy thinking about the mistake instead of leaving it behind me.”
