Angola defeated Nigeria 2-1 on Saturday, to claim the bronze medal at this year’s U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Tanzania.
The Golden Eaglets, however, kept their ticket to the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil.
To get to this stage, Garba Manu’s men narrowly edged Tanzania in a nine-goal thriller; won by a goal from the spot against Angola; came from behind to draw against Uganda; and lost on penalty shoot-out against Guinea
Nigeria behind through a fine strike from top scorer of the tournament Capita, before Wisdom Ubani levelled the scores at 1-1.
Andre Sebastio Zito then netted the winning goal for the Angolans three minutes after the break.
Cameroon and Guinea will contest Sunday’s final in Dar es Salaam.
