Tottenham Coach Jose Mourinho has spoken about a reunion with former striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Ibrahimovic is currently a free agent having left MLS outfit LA Galaxy earlier this month, and talk has been rife that he could make a sensational return to the Premier League.
Mourinho managed Ibrahimovic at Inter Milan and Manchester United in the past, with the duo both enjoying success working alongside one another.
But the new Tottenham boss has insisted he won't be reuniting with the 38-year-old, saying: “I have more than a connection, amazing player, amazing guy, but I would say no chance.
"We have the best striker in England. It doesn’t make sense."
Mourinho and Ibrahimovic both won the Serie A title in 2010 before the Swede chose to embark on a new adventure in Catalonia with Barcelona.
He struggled under Pep Guardiola, however, and was furious at having to play second fiddle to club talisman Lionel Messi.
Ibrahimovic opened up on both Guardiola and Mourinho back in October, saying: "We still stay in touch, he had an incredible impact on my career.
"He is still the Special One - a winner."
On Guardiola, he added: "We never had a confrontation, only down to him.
"When we faced each other, he hid from me.
"I went back to the dressing room after the game and he was in a room waiting for me to leave. At the door, one of his assistants told him: 'Ibra has gone, you can come out now.'
"He is phenomenal manager, but as a man..."
