Manchester United striker, Odion Ighalo, has expressed happiness after scoring his first goal for the club in their 5-0 win over Club Brugge on Thursday night.
Two goals from Fred and a strike from Bruno Fernandes, Odion Ighalo and Scott McTominay ensure the Red Devils qualified for the last 16.
Speaking after the game, Ighalo, who joined Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side on loan last month from China, told the club’s official website: “I feel great to score because this is what I have been hoping for.
“At last, it is a dream come true for me.
“I dreamed of this from when I was small when I was young.
“Playing for the team and scoring goals means a lot to me.
“I am going to cherish this moment for all the days of my life.”
He added: “Before the game, friends from Nigeria sent me messages and are waiting for my first goal for United.
“Now I have got the goal, and I cannot look at my phone now because I have got hundreds of messages from Nigeria, from everywhere, congratulating me. I am so happy.”
Ighalo will now hope to lead Manchester United to victory when they take on Everton in the Premier League this weekend.
