Former Manchester City goalkeeper, Joe Hart has questioned the club’s manager, Pep Guardiola’s tactical approach after the Premier League champions defeated Real Madrid 2-1 at the Bernabeu in their Champions League last-16 first-leg clash on Wednesday.
City came from one goal down to hand the LaLiga giants a shock defeat last night.
Gabriel Jesus and Kelvin De Bruyne scored for the visitors after Isco had given the hosts the lead.
The Spanish gaffer made several surprising changes to his lineup, with Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Fernandinho all on the substitutes’ bench.
He had decided to start Bernardo Silva and De Bruyne switched in seemingly strange roles up top in a move that surprised Hart.
The former England No.1 told BT Sport, “I think a conventional Manchester City line up beats that team [Real Madrid] by more goals, they were too strong when they stepped up in those stages.
“But with Aguero and Sterling they could do more damage.”
Manchester City now go into the second leg at Etihad with more confidence having recorded two away goals.
