How Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd Tried to Influence Man City’s Ban



The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has confirmed that nine clubs wrote to them in March, calling for Manchester City’s ban from European competitions to be upheld.
According to Sky Sports reporter, Sky Kaveh, the clubs are Arsenal, Burnley, Chelsea, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle, Tottenham Hotspur and Wolves
“CAS confirm 9 clubs wrote to them in March asking them not to lift Man City’s European ban while City appealed. City never applied for the ban to be lifted.
“9 clubs were Arsenal, Burnley, Chelsea, Leicester, Liverpool, Man Utd, Newcastle, Spurs and Wolves,” Kaveh tweeted on Tuesday.
Two weeks ago, City manager, Pep Guardiola, lashed out at managerial rivals Jose Mourinho and Jurgen Klopp.
Both managers criticized the CAS decision to overturn City’s two-year European ban.
Mourinho who manages Spurs, particularly branded the decision “a disgrace” and “a bad day for football”.
