Bayer Leverkusen sporting director, Rudi Voller, has revealed that the club has given Kai Havertz and his agent “certain requirements” to meet, before he can seal a move to Chelsea.
The Blues have identified Havertz as a key target this summer and Frank Lampard is keen to add him to his squad ahead of the new season.
The 21-year-old has reportedly agreed personal terms on a five-year deal with Chelsea and is waiting on both clubs to strike a deal on the transfer fee.
Leverkusen wants a fee in excess of €100million (£89.8m) for Havertz and are not willing to bulge.
“No decision has been made yet. I’d like to repeat myself by emphasising that we’re talking about a wonderful footballer.
“There is nothing new in this regard. We have a clear and mutual agreement with him and his representatives that he can only leave if certain requirements are met. Otherwise he will stay,” Voller told Kicker.
