Former Arsenal midfielder, Cesc Fabregas, singled out Bukayo Saka for praise after the Gunners defeated Benfica 3-2 in the Europa League last-32 second leg fixture on Thursday at Karaiskakis Stadium in Greece.
Fabregas, who spent almost a decade at Arsenal, was impressed by Saka’s display against Benfica.
The former Chelsea star described the England youngster as a “game-changer” after the match.
A brace from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and a strike from Kieran Tierney ensured Arsenal qualified for the last-16 ahead of Benfica on 4-3 aggregate.
Both teams had played a 1-1 draw in the first leg last week.
Reacting, Fabregas wrote on Twitter: “Saka is such a good player.
“Such a maturity and intelligence for his age. Game changer.”
Meanwhile, Aubameyang believes Mikel Arteta’s side showed a lot of character to come from behind to beat the Portuguese side.
The Gabonese striker said after the game: “Everyone is happy tonight.
“The team showed a lot of character, and we deserved the win.”
