Fans Think Deontay Wilder ‘Skipped Leg Day’ As New Training Images Emerge

Deontay Wilder has shared images as he returned to boxing training - but fight fans are accusing him of skipping leg day due to his incredibly skinny lower limbs.

The big-punching American has always had a unique physique in that, despite being over 6ft 6in in height, he's very light for a modern-day heavyweight. And it's clear that his legs are where he's keeping the weight off.

Wilder, now training with former opponent Malik Scott, shared an image of himself online - and fans are all saying the same thing: "Please work on your legs."

While the 35-year-old as usual looks like an Adonis from the waist up, his beanstalk legs are looking skinnier than ever.

"Training? Did he train in a wheelchair? Where are his legs??" asked one fight fan. "I see he still hasn't worked on those weak getaway sticks," commented another.

Tyson Fury once described him as a "skinny, spaghetti-hoop man" and - while we would never say that to Wilder's face - you can sort of see what 'The Gypsy King' was getting at.

Wilder hasn't fought since February 2020 when he was stunningly dominated and stopped by Fury. He blamed one of his trainers, Mark Breland, for throwing in the towel and produced a series of bizarre excuses for the loss.

However he's now promising "revenge" per his latest Instagram post, indicating a third fight with Fury - the only man to spoil his 42-1-1 (41 KOs) pro record - is very much on his mind.

Fury is expected to fight British rival Anthony Joshua next to decide the true No 1 in the heavyweight division. But with a venue yet to be confirmed, there's still doubts the megafight will go ahead.

There's yet to be an opponent announced for Wilder's comeback fight. But Scott on his Instagram was clearly pleased with his charge, stating: "Great session tonight comrade, it's game time."

Some boxing fans clearly wish it was also "leg gains time" as Wilder gets ready for his ring return.
