Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, has said that his team will approach their UEFA Champions League, UCL, semi-final first-leg tie against Real Madrid on Tuesday night in Spain with full confidence.
Tuchel explained that Chelsea players would go on the offensive against Real Madrid, adding that they will be adventurous against the Zinedine Zidane’s side at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano stadium.
Tuchel’s men had eliminated FC Porto from the Champions League last-8 earlier this month, while Real Madrid knocked Liverpool out of the competition.
Chelsea head to the match following a 1-0 victory against West Ham in the Premier League over the weekend.
“If you arrive in a semi-final, you arrive at pretty much the highest level in European football and to play Real Madrid cannot be harder,” Tuchel told reporters at his pre-match press conference.
“They [Real Madrid] are the most experienced team in this competition, and they’ll play these games with full confidence and awareness.
“But we’ll arrive with full confidence because we have won crucial matches and had big results in the FA Cup, Premier League and Champions League.
“I hope we can play adventurous, aggressive and intensive football. We’ll fight them hard.
“This is what you dream about when you are a little boy, you dream about games against Real Madrid, no doubt. We want to match Real and give them a tough fight.”
