Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has said he prefers the club makes a transfer move for Dortmund’s Erling Haaland instead of Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
Haaland and Kane have been heavily linked with a move to Man United this summer.
According to Daily Mail, Solskjaer will abandon his interest in Kane and will instead try to sign Haaland in 2022.
The Red Devils’ boss gave Haaland his first-team debut at Molde at the age of 16 and the pair have remained in close contact.
Haaland, 20, finished the 2020/21 season as the Champions League’s top scorer.
The Norwegian is valued at around £130million by Dortmund.
He has a clause in his contract with the Bundesliga side, meaning he can leave for around £62million in 2022.
Man United will have to battle the likes of Manchester City, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain for Haaland’s signature.
