Tammy Abraham Is Playing Like Prime Ronaldo Nazario At Roma, Serie A Is Already Becoming His Playground
Tammy Abraham is already ripping things up at Roma after joining from Chelsea this summer.
The 23-year-old was very much unfancied by Thomas Tuchel following the German's arrival at Stamford Bridge and his first-team future with the European champions looked even bleaker when Romelu Lukaku returned in a club-record £97.5 million switch.
Abraham courted plenty of interest from across Europe and elected to move to the Italian capital, where he is already flourishing under Jose Mourinho.
The striker registered two assists on his Serie A debut in a 3-1 win over Fiorentina a week ago and he continued his strong start last night.
Not only did he open his account in Italian football, Abraham's part in the second of four Roma goals was utterly superb.
Receiving the ball under pressure on the left flank, his hold-up play was outstanding and he sent an opponent to the shops with a deft skill before popping the ball off.
He then advanced to the box and when the ball was fizzed into him with his back to goal, Abraham produced an exquisite touch into Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who picked out goalscorer Jordan Veretout.
It was just all-round excellent striker play from Abraham and the passage of play has gone viral on social media - with the clip amassing over one million views on Twitter.
Abraham would then notch his first in a Roma shirt, curling one in off the post from just inside the area.
Roma secured Abraham's services for a £34 million fee and it could prove to be a very shrewd bit of business from the Giallorossi.
And Chelsea have the option of bringing him back to west London after inserting a £68 million buy-back clause in the deal.
After spending so long in the cold, it's wonderful seeing a hungry Abraham doing the business in a completely new environment.
