Champions League: Rio Ferdinand blames two players as PSG defeat Man City

Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, has blamed Aymeric Laporte and Ruben Dias for Paris Saint-Germain’s opening goal against Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday.

PSG defeated Man City in Paris, thanks to two goals from Idrissa Gueye and Lionel Messi.

But Ferdinand believes that both Laporte, who failed to close down Kylian Mbappe’s cut-back pass, and Dias could have done more to prevent PSG’s first goal.

“If you are Dias, you are screaming at Laporte, get out there now and close him [Kylian Mbappe] down quicker.

“Because there are enough white shirts in the box to deal with that situation,” Ferdinand said on BT Sport.

“The moment he stands and is in-between, the indecision is a domino effect and leaves everyone else to pick up the pieces.”
