Liverpool had the chance to open up a three-point gap at the top later in the evening, but the Reds could only play out a thrilling 3-3 draw at Brentford.
Brighton travels to Crystal Palace in sixth place with 12 points. So far, they have recorded four wins and one defeat.
A win against Patrick Vieira’s men will take them up to 15 points and above everyone else.
But it won’t be easy. This is a Derby. And Palace will be eager to give a good account of themselves in front of their fans at Selhurst Park.
