Some Barcelona players have taken to social media to pay tribute to Ronald Koeman after being sacked by the club.
Recall that Barcelona President, Joan Laporta, sacked Koeman following Barca’s LaLiga 1-0 defeat to Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday night.
Barcelona eventually appointed Sergi Barjuan as interim manager on Thursday.
Reacting to the development, Barcelona captain, Sergio Busquets, was one of the first players to say goodbye to Koeman via Instagram.
Busquets wrote, “Thank you for everything mister. Good luck for the future.”
Similarly, Gerard Pique was quick to follow suit. He tweeted, “It has been a great pleasure to be at your service Ronald Koeman. I wish you all the luck in the world in the future. A big hug mister.”
Also, Frenkie de Jong wrote, “You are a great coach and an amazing person, gracias por todo mister.”
On his part, goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, wrote: “Thank you for everything Mister. Your passion for this club and city is special. I wish you only the best for the future – lots of health and happiness!”
