Barcelona legend, Rivaldo, has told the club to appoint Xavi Hernández as their new manager following the sacking of Ronald Koeman.
Rivaldo believes Xavi, a former Barcelona captain, has what it takes to get the Catalan club out of their current situation.
Barcelona President, Joan Laporta, sacked Koeman after Barca’s LaLiga 1-0 defeat to Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday night.
Rayo Vallecano defeated Barcelona at home, thanks to a first-half goal from Radamel Falcao.
The defeat to Rayo Vallecano means Barcelona have now lost their last two consecutive LaLiga matches, having lost 2-1 to bitter rival Real Madrid in the El Clasico last weekend.
Barcelona are currently in the 9th position on the LaLiga table with 15 points from ten games.
“After the departure of coach koeman, I would very much like @xavi to have this opportunity to be @fcbarcelona’s new coach,” Rivaldo wrote on Instagram.
“I have a lot of confidence in him to get the Club out of this situation.”
