Manchester United midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, has hinted why caretaker manager, Michael Carrick, against Chelsea.
Carrick raised eyebrows with his decision to drop Ronaldo to the bench for the Premier League clash with Chelsea, despite the Portuguese scoring a goal in Man United’s Champions League win over Villarreal a few days ago.
But Fernandes has now insisted that Manchester United players must prove they deserve to start matches every day as he returned to the starting XI against Chelsea and Ronaldo was dropped.
When asked by Sky Sports whether he had a point to prove on his return to Man United’s starting XI against Chelsea, Fernandes declared that all players at Old Trafford must prove they deserve to start, regardless of reputation.
“We have to prove something every day,” Fernandes said. “On the training pitch, in the games, every day you have to prove your qualities if you want to play in the first XI.
“If you deserve to play in the first XI, you have to prove it every day.
“That’s what I’m about, I have been doing that since I came to the club and started playing football. I have to prove that firstly to myself and then to everyone else.”
