Watford will be without eight key players when they host Chelsea in Wednesday’s Premier League tie at Vicarage Road due to injuries.
The players are Ismaïla Sarr, Nicolas Nkoulou, Ben Foster, Emmanuel Dennis (doubt), Ken Sema, Francisco Sierralta (now running), Peter Etebo and Kwadwo Baah.
Watford disclosed this in a statement via their website on Tuesday ahead of the Chelsea clash.
Claudio Ranieri’s men head to the game following a 4-2 defeat to Leicester City in their last game.
The statement partly read: “Ismaïla Sarr has a knee ligament injury which will require a further scan in around a month’s time.
“Nicolas Nkoulou will be sidelined until into the New Year, after picking up a hamstring injury towards the end of the Manchester United match.
“Having been nursing a groin strain in recent games, the results of a scan late last week revealed that Ben Foster – who missed Sunday’s trip to Leicester City – will be out of action until January.
“Emmanuel Dennis is a doubt after his withdrawal at the King Power Stadium.
“Ken Sema – also out with a knee injury – hopes to re-join training with the squad at the end of this week.
“Francisco Sierralta (hamstring) is now running outside, and longer-term absentees Peter Etebo (quad) and Kwadwo Baah (ankle) are continuing to work at the London Colney training base on their rehabilitation programmes.”
The kick-off time for Watford vs Chelsea is 8:30 pm.
