EPL: Chelsea legend, Pat Nevin names Arsenal star to win Ballon d’Or

 

Chelsea hero, Pat Nevin, has tipped Tierney Kirean to win football’s most prestigious individual award, Ballon d’Or.

Arsenal paid around £25m in 2019 to land the Scotland International from Celtic and he has proven a popular figure with supporters.

With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang out of the way, Tierney is in line to become Arsenal captain next season.

The player is now worth well more than the £25m Arsenal paid for Tierney and Nevin recalled he advised his former club Chelsea to make a move for the Scot.

“Kieran is already one of the best footballers on the planet,” Nevin said, according to Metro.

“I genuinely believe he can go on to win the Ballon d’Or.

‘Only one defender – Fabio Cannavarro, has ever won that prize but it’s not impossible for KT to emulate him.”
