The FIFA Congress on Thursday, during its 72nd congress, 2022, meeting confirmed the suspension of two African countries, Kenya and Zimbabwe, from all football activities.
The Council took the decision in February citing government interference.

During the meeting, the FIFA Congress voted on the suspension of the Zimbabwe Football Association, enabling the Council to lift the suspension once the pertinent requirements have been fulfilled.
And the outcome of the vote showed that 199 members voted yes, while two members voted no.
The FIFA Congress also voted on the suspension of the Kenyan Football Association, enabling the Council to lift the suspension once the pertinent requirements have been fulfilled.
And the outcome of the vote showed that 198 members voted yes, while 1 member voted no.
