Super Eagles interim manager, Augustine Eguavoen has said that his team needs to improve on their finishing when Nigeria clashes with Ghana in a 2022 FIFA World Cup second leg playoff on Tuesday evening in Abuja.
Nigeria held the Black Stars to a goalless draw in the first leg in Kumasi last Friday.
However, the Super Eagles struggled to deal with the issue of profligacy in front of goal against Ghana in the first leg.
But speaking at the match presser as per JTV, Eguavoen hopes the Super Eagles can fix the issue when they battle the Black Stars at the Moshood Abiola Stadium.
“We want to score goals,” Eguavoen said.
“The opportunities may rarely come in high-level matches like this, so when you’ve the chance, you have to take it.
“Ghana played very well. I have said from day one that they are not a pushover, they are a team we respect, and they respect the Nigerian team as well.
“In the first leg, there was no big clear-cut chance for the Ghanaian team, but we came close to scoring. So, tomorrow, every chance we get must count. Scoring goals is what we are trying to correct,” he added.
