Sergino Dest is reportedly expected to remain at Barcelona this summer despite being strongly linked with a move away from the Catalan giants over the last few months.
The United States international was believed to be the subject of interest from a number of clubs in January, with Barcelona boss Xavi allegedly masking him surplus to requirements.
However, according to ESPN, Xavi has been impressed by Dest's performances this year and now wants to keep the American at Camp Nou on a long-term basis.
The 21-year-old, who moved to the La Liga side from Ajax in October 2020, has allegedly been informed that he is part of the club's plans for the 2022-23 campaign.
Dest has struggled with a number of injury problems this season but has still made 31 appearances in all competitions, contributing three assists in the process.
The right-back picked up another hamstring problem in the 1-0 defeat to Rayo Vallecano on April 24, though, and is now expected to miss the remainder of the campaign.
