Jose Mourinho has told reporters that whatever happens at Manchester United in terms of appointment of new managers, is none of his business.
Mourinho said that Manchester United are not his club and that he has no advice to offer them regarding the appointment of Erik ten Hag as new manager.
The Portuguese also aimed a dig at Tottenham for sacking him before their Carabao Cup final last season.
Manchester United had last week confirmed that Erik Ten Hag, who is currently the manager at Ajax, will replace interim manager, Ralf Rangnick.
Mourinho is one of the four managers who have been hired and fired by the United hierarchy since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson and the Portuguese spent just over two years in charge at Old Trafford.
During his pre-match press conference on Wednesday ahead of their game against Leicester City, the Portuguese was asked to give his verdict on his former club’s move for the Ajax boss.
Mourinho replied: “You touched on the point – my former club. Not my club.
“No, I don’t have advice.”
Before his sudden sack by Tottenham Chairman, Daniel Levy, Mourinho had the chance to win the Carabao Cup after leading the club to the final against Manchester City last season, but was dismissed just days before the game at Wembley.
“I have to admit in my long career with so many things which have happened that one is quite unique,” Mourinho added.
“But Mr Levy [Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy] is also quite a unique person,” he added.
