Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, joined his players, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson in a clash with Villarreal’s Juan Foyth immediately after their 2-0 victory over the Spanish side in the first leg of their Champions League semi final at Anfield on Wednesday.
Pervis Estupinan scored an own goal to put the Premier League side in front in the second half, before Sadio Mane struck two minutes later to secure a 2-0 victory for Klopp’s side.
Foyth was caught severally in a battle with Liverpool’s Luis Diaz during the game and the pair exchanged what appeared to be heated words after the full-time whistle.
A video clip shows Diaz being pulled away from the situation, while Foyth was pushed away by Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian, before Klopp confronted the defender alongside Alexander-Arnold and Henderson.
As the Argentine defender continued to vent his anger on the Premier League giants, television cameras caught Henderson telling him to “shut the f*** up.”
Liverpool manager, meanwhile, stood, watching the Argentine defender with a smile on his face as he continued to show his anger against the Premier League club.
The Reds now have a huge advantage from the first leg of the semi-final heading into the reverse fixture in Spain next week.
Speaking after his side’s latest win at Anfield, Henderson told BT Sport: “They are a very organised team and we knew they would make it difficult.
“It was just important that we kept going and believed that we would eventually break them down. We did that with two good goals.
“First one [goal] was a bit lucky. Good build up but a bit lucky, in off the defender and keeper I think”
