Sir Alex Ferguson has been officially named to the Manchester United board.
The 80 year-old has taken an official position on the board.
Chief executive Richard Arnold has set up a think-tank involving Ferguson to advise United on issues at the club.
Former skipper Bryan Robson, ex-CEO David Gill and football director John Murtough are also involved, reports the Daily Mail.
Ferguson met United chiefs on Tuesday - the same day that Cristiano Ronaldo returned to Carrington for the first time since last season.
The five-man group are expected to meet regularly to talk about the issues at the club.
