Thierry Henry has joined Como as a minority stakeholder.
Since retiring as a footballer, the former Arsenal captain has coached both Montreal Impact and Monaco.
Henry currently acts as Roberto Martinez’s No 2 with Belgium.
Como has been drawing attention this summer following the signing of Cesc Fabregas.
Fabregas has also become a part-owner at Serie B club, and the addition of his former Gunners team-mate in an off-field capacity is another sizeable capture for owners of the Djarum Group.
Speaking on the announcement, Henry said: “I have been waiting to get involved in a project like Como for a long time. A club with ambition but most importantly one that holds the same values as me – that the club and its local community both need to thrive.
“When I spoke to the team here and they told me about the community initiatives already in place and the ambition to ensure that as the club prospers so does the community, I knew this was the perfect opportunity for me.”
