Rangers legend Ally McCoist has said he was shocked to see Leon Balogun leave the club in the summer.
Balogun was not offered a new deal by Rangers following the expiration of his contract in June.
The centre-back was a regular for the Gers and it was a surprise they let him leave on a free.
The 34-year-old later linked up with Sky Bet Championship club, Queens Park Rangers.
Rangers have struggled this season and recently sacked manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
McCoist believes the defender could help the team should he return.
“A lot of agreements need to fall into place but Balogun could certainly be a handy addition for Rangers again given their current defensive injury problems,” McCoist told Evening Glasgow Times.
