Manchester United left-back, Tyrell Malacia has opened up on why manager, Erik ten Hag dropped him from Manchester United starting XI before the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Malacia suffered from a big drop in form earlier this season and the manager kept him away from starting XI as Luke Shaw reclaimed his position.
The Dutch International was the first player signed by Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford over the summer.
Malacia immediately took the position of Luke Shaw in the defence line after the England international struggled in the abysmal defeats to Brighton and Brentford.
After the dreadful 6-3 defeat to Manchester City, Malacia found himself back on the bench.
He was dropped for five Premier League games, though he still played in the Europa League and Carabao Cup.
“I just didn’t play well [against City]. In the next match I had a small mistake. Then the trainer has to make choices,” Malacia said.
“I just have to make sure that I train well, I did that. [Ten Hag] also said to me.”
