Former Roma sports chief Walter Sabatini has questioned the hype around new Italy cap Mateo Retegui.
The Tigre striker, on-loan from Boca Juniors, has two goals from his first two games for Italy.
But Sabatini told bttfnews.it: "Retegui is a very normal player. Then I see that in penalty area he knows some movement but from here to say that he is a player for the national team is a lot.
"I don't want to get into this controversy, if they called him it means that it will be fine for them."
Asked if Retegui will be a big name in the summer market, he also said: "No. If he were to become a market man it means that the clubs are at the gas barrel. He's a normal player, he doesn't have exceptional strengths, he's a normal player in everything he does.
"But it must be said to be honest that a striker who plays two games and scores twice is already a good path. But it is the exaltation of normality."
