Chelsea interim manager, Frank Lampard has said his side lacked “belief” in their 2-0 defeat to Brentford on Wednesday night.
Lampard is yet to win a single game in all competitions since he was brought in to replace Graham Potter until the end of the campaign.
The Blues suffered their fifth consecutive loss, thanks to an own goal from Cesar Azpilicueta and a deflected finish from Bryan Mbeumo.
Lampard, speaking to BT Sport, said: “A difficult one. I feel for the players a bit. In terms of the game we controlled it possession wise.
“Brentford are good at what they do.
“The details of the game are pretty clear, we are lacking the belief at the top end of the pitch today, because we were there a lot. So you lose the game.”
