Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani has refused to take part in Wednesday’s training session as he bids to secure a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
On Tuesday, the 24-year-old told Sky Germany that he was keen to move to the Ligue 1 champions and hoped that Frankfurt would accept an offer for him.
That interview came after Sky Germany reported that Frankfurt had rejected Paris Saint-Germain’s £68.6m (€80m) offer for Kolo Muani, with the Bundesliga side holding out for a figure closer to £85.8m (€100m).
“I owe Eintracht Frankfurt a lot. I've taken the fans to my heart and have always behaved in a highly professional way. I always gave everything for the club until the very end,” he said.
“However, it's no secret that Paris Saint-Germain made a record offer for me. A move to Paris is now a unique opportunity for me. I would like to move to Paris and have also informed the people in charge.
“I hope and wish that Eintracht will agree to Paris’s offer and that this move will now be made possible for me.”
Now the French international has taken the step of refusing to take part in Frankfurt training ahead of their Europa Conference League play-off second leg against PFC Levski Sofia on Thursday.
The club have confirmed that Kolo Muani will not play against Sofia and insisted that his absence from training will not influence their decision-making when it comes to transfers.
