Guardiola facing Complex trip to Stamford Bridge

Manchester City may be top of the Premier League table but they have already lost twice this season.

The Premier League champions’ unbeaten start ended at Wolves.

Pep Guardiola’s men took the lead but Gary O’Neil’s men fought back to win 2-1 in front of their fans.

The next week, Arsenal ended a long losing run to City, with a narrow 1-0 win at the Emirates.

While City are almost invincible at home, they look susceptible to upsets when they play away.

This Sunday, they face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The Blues go into the game full of confidence after ending Tottenham Hotspur’s unbeaten start to the campaign with a 4-1 victory.

Although Spurs finished the game with nine men, Mauricio Pochettino’s men found a ruthless streak to put their hosts to the sword.

Chelsea are not entirely unreliable on home soil – their only Premier League win from their last 13 matches at Stamford Bridge came against new boys Luton Town.

They have also failed to score in three of their last four top-flight games on familiar territory.

However, the Blues have now won five of their last seven in all competitions, as Pochettino begins to mould his expensively assembled squad into a winning one.

Since losing to Arsenal, City have netted 17 goals across their quintet of consecutive wins, but their only points dropped in the top flight this season have come on the road, where they also have just five Premier League clean sheets to boast in 2023.

The Premier League closes out before the international break at Stamford Bridge and it could be a season-defining clash.
