Scholes indicate on Man Utd sacking Ten Hag after 4-3 defeat to Copenhagen

Former Manchester United playmaker, Paul Scholes, has said that the team’s defeat to FC Copenhagen in the Champions League on Wednesday night, should not lead to manager Erik ten Hag losing his job.

According to Scholes, the Red Devils “can’t afford” to fire him.

Ten Hag’s men took a two-goal lead thanks to Rasmus Hojlund, but ultimately fell to a 4-3 defeat.

The result leaves United bottom of Champions League Group A, leaving Ten Hag under more pressure.

But Scholes told TNT Sports: “I still don’t feel like there’s that much pressure on Erik ten Hag.

“He had a good year and bought some time. He’s had bad injuries but nine defeats in 17 is not good enough.

“I know United have sacked before, but I don’t think they can afford to keep doing that, I think we’ve got to let this fella go with it.
