Celtic have agreed a deal to sign 20-year-old midfielder Arne Engels from Bundesliga side Augsburg.
Reports suggest the deal could break the club record fee Celtic paid Paris St-Germain for striker Odsonne Edouard in 2018.
Engels has made 53 appearances for the Bundesliga club, having started his career with Club Brugge.
The Belgian is set to become the Scottish Premiership champions' second signing this week after Barcelona left-back Alex Valle joined on loan.
Manager Brendan Rodgers has been clear signings would arrive after the sale of Matt O'Riley to Brighton.
The Celtic boss has previously stated he wanted two midfielders to replace the Denmark international.
