Sevilla boss lavishes praise on Iheanacho for ending goal drought

Sevilla manager, Garcia Pimienta, has showered encomium on Kelechi Iheanacho after the forward ended his barren run in front of goal.

Iheanacho, who has endured a tough start to life since arriving Sevilla on a free transfer in the summer, scored twice in the club’s Copa de Rey 3-0 victory over La Rozas FC on Wednesday night.

It was the striker’s first two goals for the Rojiblancos.

Pimienta singled out the Nigeria international for praise after the game.

“He played very little in the first half, and in the second he had the success that is needed for the forwards,” Pimienta was quoted by the club’s official website.

“He’s training well; he’s played 90 minutes; we’re happy with his double and we’ll continue to improve.”
