Spain and Barcelona midfielder Aitana Bonmati has won the women’s Ballon d’Or for the second consecutive year. Last season, Bonmati achieved every possible club-level title as Barcelona completed a historic quadruple, claiming Liga F, the Champions League, the Supercopa, and the Copa de la Reina. The 26-year-old scored a career-high 19 goals across all four competitions.

Bonmati also led Spain to victory in the first-ever Women’s Nations League in February, contributing four goals, including one in their 2-0 final win over France. Upon receiving her award in Paris, she said, "Thank you so much for your applause. I’m so grateful to be here to receive this award for the second time. I always say this is not something that you can do alone; I'm lucky to be surrounded by wonderful players who help me grow as a player."

England’s Lauren James finished 13th in the voting, with fellow Lionesses Lucy Bronze and Lauren Hemp ranking 20th and 28th, respectively. Emma Hayes also made history, becoming the first recipient of the women’s coach of the year award after guiding Chelsea to a fifth straight Women’s Super League title and leading the United States to Olympic gold at Paris 2024.
