I’ll never forget this in my career – Amorim on Man Utd’s 3-2 win over Bodo/Glimt

Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim, has said he will never forget the welcome he got from Old Trafford fans during the 3-2 win over Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League.

Amorim took charge of his first home fixture on Thursday night.

The 39-year-old oversaw a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town last Sunday.

Alejandro Garnacho opened the scoring in the first minute, before Bodo/Glimt turned the game on its end with two goals from Hakon Evjen and Filip Zinckernagel in four first-half minutes.

But Rasmus Hojlund’s brace sealed a first win for Amorim.

“Half of the stadium doesn’t know me, I came from Portugal and I did nothing for this club. Yet the way they make me feel at home is special. I will keep this to the end of my career.

“It was a real ride. We started well but then conceded two goals in transitions. I like the way the players tried to play our game.

“Sometimes we won the ball and have had problems in the past giving the ball away too much – the mindset is keeping the ball. They are really trying and I think we deserved the win,” Amorim told TNT Sports.
